The Concerto has three separate movements. Thematic material is derived from the French composer Guillaurme Dufay. The first movement begins with all instruments in unison performing L’homme arme’. The Second Movement begins with permutations of Dufay’s Iste Confessor. The third movement begins with a cadenza and a processional to the end.

The three movements depict major events in the short life of Joan of Arc’.

  2. Movement II: Age 17-19 - Conflict, Capture
  3. Movement III: Age 19 – Martyrdom
